Ross Douthat, in a column he wrote to try to get the right to distance themselves from Fuentes-style antisemitism, made the point that left-wing critics have always made: you can criticize Israel without being antisemitic.

Ross Douthat is correct that Trump's biggest vulnerability for turning the U.S. completely into a fascist state is that he won't be in power for long enough and he isn't popular enough. The New York Times allowed Ross to make a case for three terms for Trump and to offer a blueprint for fascism.

Surprisingly, I appreciate Ross Douthat's exhortation, but he fails to see that the things that divide us are not merely political. We have moved into existential territory, which needs a genuine response, not just less intensity. People's lives are at stake.

Noah acting like cancel culture changed because no one is on Bluesky and everyone was on Twitter is dubious. It wasn't that powerful.

The author of this Times' op-ed should interrogate why protesting a genocide doesn't result in widespread unity in Hollywood or anywhere. And categorically, the reason is anti-Palestinian racism and Zionist propaganda.

It's crucial to note that the reason Trump exists is because of Evangelicals. They elected him and support him. The tree is rotten, Trump didn't make it rotten.

Great question for an Iraq War combat veteran @davidfrenchjag.bsky.social to ask himself.

David French is not only failing to see Gaza is already occupied, he waxes about the success of the failed Iraq War.

Fair remark on Francis.

The generosity with which Ross Douthat offers Christian Zionists only exists because he is one. This is hogwash. Christian "philosemitism" is self-interested and yes, explicitly, antisemitic.

To be sure, attacks on the independence of universities started with Biden's anti-Palestinian racism, not just Donald Trump. You reap what you sow.

The same publication was defending censoring pro-Palestinian students, so this sort of editorials falls on deaf ears to me.

White people using people in the Global South as a shield against their own Western-inspired homophobia is shameful behavior. Own your prejudice, and don't pit minorities against each other. I wonder if Bonnie knows I'm Egyptian.

Trump is actually the perfect example of what Evangelical theology produces. David French is responsible for Trump. He should repent instead of defending his broken theology.

Reminder that God also created day and night and didn’t create a binary as a result. Obviously there are times of day that range between the two. The same is true of gender.

I'm grateful for Richard Hays and the book he wrote, I hope it influences people to be more loving and accepting.

But I think it would be more humble if Hays admitted he changed his mind, instead of suggesting God changed. Homophobia is an anachronistic imposition on the Bible.

In one breath, David French argues that SCOTUS is the last vestige of the pre-Trump right. But he goes on to admit its most MAGA members are Alito and Thomas—pre-Trump appointees. What he’s saying is that Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and Barrett are not that MAGA.
