The stretch between the news and religious texts on Todays Thought for the day is sometimes wild. Just heard the mad link between driving test fraud and the bible

Quite irritated by this Love Actually description about UK-US relations. It is not about having a tantrum in public then getting twatted for it. It's about taking concrete action to reduce UK dependency on a country which no longer respects us or shares our values.

when the Housing Minister he chose to make leaseholders pay for cladding. when the Immigration Minister he got a picture of Mickey Mouse painted over in a children's imagination centre. when in Hansworth, he moaned about a lack of white people. Jenrick is one of the worst politicians of our age.

Building a snow man, great fun. Taking a picture of said snow man, which in all honesty looks shit, and sharing it with everyone, get in the bin

The rest of the west need to lean into on UN, NATO EU and everything else to slow Trump down from this madness
January 5, 2026 at 6:40 PM
We are going to look at the 20’s as the point the international institutions set up after 1945 disappeared into obscurity. Trump dismissal of the UN is so damaging and dangerous. You can argue about Iraq or Afghan but at least there was some framework in international law.

Australia arrogance, thinking they can serve up a shit tip pitch and blow England away.

Provide a proper wicket and they would probably have beaten us in 5 days, to keep the 5-0 alive and cash in 3 days of cash.

Instead they underestimated a big lad from Redditch bowling like a hero

Headline on The World at One just now:

"Sir Keir Starmer has denied putting the Labour Party before the country by ending the two-child benefit cap".

Can we please go back to reporting the actual news, not someone's partisan take on it?

Don’t forget, no matter how much Nigel Farage tries to shape Reform UK’s economic policy to win votes, at heart he’s a disaster capitalist.

Farage can now be easily boxed in to a corner where his only ‘defence’ becomes: “Yes I spouted Kremlin propaganda & Putin worship but, unlike Nathan Gill, I didn’t need bribes to do it.”
It is, once again, a question of whether interviewers have the temerity to shut down his whining obfuscations.

Just a thought.

Perhaps staying in NATO is a good idea then.
Reform's former Leader in Wales, Nathan Gill, a 10.5 year jail term for taking bribes from the Kremlin.

Cosied up to authoritarian powers & traded principles for payoffs. Reform's leadership laughably claimed they barely knew Gill.

Will all this be on tomorrow's front pages?
