Again, Paramount never had a stake in Rush Hour, it’s a WB/NL franchise, and I don’t think Ellison goes to these lengths to make it happen without that presidential push…or if they acquire WB, which is still a ways from happening (albeit looking increasingly possible).

The trades love to float “potential comebacks” for any cancelled creep that they can; the fact that there was no movement on this project in the 15 months between that article being published the president of the United States interjecting makes me skeptical of Ratner getting anywhere on his own.

There’s definitely a world where Rush Hour 4 happens on its own, but I highly doubt it happens with Ratner attached, which is why he personally appealed to Trump to personally appeal to a studio to make it happen (that was never involved with the Rush Hours btw, they were New Line joints).

Obviously they made significantly more money than they would have with one, but I don't think audiences would have liked a single Wicked movie as much as they ended up loving these two movies, even with all the messiness of For Good.
