True. The router is on the other side of the room, hence the need for the switch.

Also, when pushed on it, their answer always seems to be, although they try not to say it in these terms, “I believe that I have a large audience on X and I’m not willing to give that up”.

MMT wins by sheer volume of content in the training set.

Just realised I’m replying to a year old thread. I think this story has got the better of me.

Hold on, they didn’t actually touch each other?

this guy constantly manages to do shit like this and displace it in the media and discourse with something that goes with a laugh track somehow

One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

TRUMP [after spending 5 minutes with Zohran]: surplus value, it’s a very wonderful thing, very wonderful, and they’re stealing it. Can you believe that?

We’re going to be looking very strongly at the bourgeoisie, what they’re up to

Yeah looks the same. The subhead o the chart is wrong in that case.

So this is 'changes in income due to fiscal changes' whereas RF is 'change in income over the period'. I wonder which JBM's chart is showing.
November 21, 2025 at 8:44 AM
Up to 2019, it's more like -1% for top decile, -15% for bottom.
November 21, 2025 at 8:42 AM
Where are the charts from? The RF charts look different -- they are after housing costs but presumably that isn't the difference?
November 21, 2025 at 8:41 AM
Yes. Nonetheless, I think 'austerity squeezed the rich' is too strong.
November 21, 2025 at 8:33 AM
Why does it say 'pushkin'?
November 21, 2025 at 8:31 AM
The RF analysis doesn't look that way. bsky.app/profile/jomi...
I'm going to put it more strongly. The 'austerity' chart in the previous post is badly misleading. Look at the RF analysis of the actual Osborne period.
