"I look at the resilience of the American scientific enterprise, of the scientists in that enterprise, the graduate students and postdocs, and I see it working its way up into the legislation," says @aaas.org CEO Sudip Parikh.
One Year Into Trump’s Term, Where Does Science Funding Stand?
The CEO of AAAS is cautiously optimistic about federal funding for science, even as uncertainty makes research challenging.

BRENNAN: Tell me about the officer, Jonathan Ross

KRISTI NOEM: Don't say his name! I mean, for heaven's sake, we shouldn't have people continue to dox law enforcement

BRENNAN: His name is public

NOEM: I know, but that doesn't mean it should continue to be said

Wallace is still figuring out free feeding. He seems to get that it's there and he can walk by the food dish. When he does go to eat, he has to eat the entire bowl, then check the other bowl. He hasn't figured out grazing.

I love how much Paris Hilton is spending (Well her and the studio I'm sure) on ads for her nonsense "visual memoir"

"First I was born rich, then I lead a completely vapid and self serving life.

Now that I'm 45, and realize I've literally done nothing memorable… well that's it, I guess"

An unsurprisingly good write up on what we can do about the impending AI bubble pop.

I have some more bad news.

If an admissions committee even suspects you used ChatGPT for your application letter, they'll almost certainly decide not to waste a precious admissions spot on you.

Instead they'll give it to, you know, someone who actually likes to write and knows how to do it.
I have some bad news. One, if you need to use ChatGPT for your graduate application letter, you are not ready for graduate school.

Two, no, not "everyone is doing it" and those who don't do it aren't "losing out." ChatGPT is not an advantage.
An impressive number of graduate applications this year used the phrase “curiosity-driven approach” 🤔

iCloud, for when you want things to stay synced but when that happens isn't really important or even in your control.

Just over here waiting to open word on my iPad but the changes I made today haven't propogated.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Really bummed to see so many people jump right onto shitting on #SFWA new reading list. It's been "live" less than 12 hours. Is in soft launch so the 1 volunteer working on it can make fixes.

Yes "WHAT THE FUCK AM I LOOKING AT!?"

Some folks take themselves WAY too seriously.

American commentators and right wing politicians are expressing shock that countries they have repeatedly threatened with invasion, disrespected on the international stage, and economically bullied are forging new alliances.

Sorry guys, but it’s FAFO time.

I genuinely don't understood how America took the emoluments clause -- the common-sense bar on a president using his powers to line his own pockets, a law children can understand -- and just said, nah, that doesn't apply for our Very Special Boy.
He’s turned the presidency into the world’s largest ATM machine.

Liked the Avatar movies. No not the good Avatar the weird colonizer masturbation fantasy Avatar.

That’s all I needed to know about his taste. Why do they think “Since ‘66” is some sort of bonafide?

I liked al Star Trek since syndication. But disliked Discovery.
