A little about myself: I've got an associates degree in liberal arts and a bachelor's in creative writing. I write books, usually on the short side, and scripts for movies and comics. I've got autism and bipolar, so I can be a bit to handle. But really, I live in a world of words, written words.

"Go to an old cemetery. See all the baby graves from before the 1950s & 60s? After that, hardly any. That's when people started vaccinating their children. If you're unsure what to do to protect your kids, the answer is literally written in stone." — Michael Okuda

Getting my cat about five months ago was one of the best decisions I’ve made in years. Tefra is so loving and cuddly, I am grateful she’s in my life every day now.

I’ve been asking people in my life what they would have done during the rise of the Third Reich in Germany. All of them speak loftily about the things they’d have done. When I ask them why they aren’t doing that now, no real response. I think this is how it happened then.

It really feels like stupidity is what is going to end civilization. Evil had its chance, but stupidity truly is the most destructive force. Seems Bonhoeffer was right, makes sense he was opposing Nazis.

I wonder how long before people start identifying ICE agents the way the public did for Jan. 6 rioters? Wonder how they’d react. Probably why they’re covering their faces.

I wonder if the voices railing against AI have actually spent much time with it. Not just reading headlines or posting takes, but using it.

I use AI to brainstorm, worldbuild, simulate characters, and experiment with writing. It’s not replacing me—it’s working with me. It’s a tool, not a takeover.

My favorite Gi ran poem, My Countrymen, resonates with me deeply in these times.
A lil Khalil Gibran... This poem, Have Mercy on Me, My Soul, resonates deeply tonight. And sharing is caring. Here's an excerpt:

Had gotten back in the habit of promoting my books, even moved a few hundred free ebooks. Then, catastrophe after crisis for two weeks. It’s like Fate doesn’t want me to be a writer sometimes. But I do it anyway.

What's funny to me about this is that I wrote a short story in my collection 'Delusions of Delerium' titled 'American Spring' where a hip-hop artist basically does this and surrounds the white house. Not the first time something I've written has foreshadowed the future.

I wonder what historians are going to think of the giant body of written works that get digitally left behind now about what people thought and did as fascism arrived in force in America. Social media will be a treasure trove for historians if the future.

Another stack of books showed up today. Forgot I ordered these, already made my restock rounds. Maybe I should just leave them as part of my tip at restaurants? Still leave money, but a book on top of the tip. 📚💙

My book, 'For the People: a novella about bloodless revolution', moved 176 copies yesterday during a free book promo. I paid $21 to get my book promoted, and I'm really pleased with the download rate. While it's not a huge amount, it was really satifying to see so many downloading my work. 💙📚
