Gotta figure for Berrios being seen as the 5th or 6th starter right now hurts a lot. This is a guy who was the #1 pitcher in Minny before coming here and being the #2 guy behind Gausman, or so it seemed, after that deal. Hopefully, for his sake, he uses it as an incentive to be better.

Sounds smart. Anyone expecting him to actually say that is being foolish. Smart to ask just in case, but it'd be a poor move to say anything beyond 'after the WS and before right now'.

Agreed 100% - For this ballot, ignoring the PED guys as they'll never get in, I'd go Kent-Delgado-Fernando-Murphy-Mattingly but only vote for the first 2, then a protest vote for Bonds. If Tony LaRussa & Bud Selig are in, Bonds should be.

Agreed 100%. However, for who was on the ballot if you are not going to put the PED crew in (and we know they won't) then Kent was probably the best choice, followed by Delgado. The only reason I'd ever accept Mattingly and/or Murphy going in is to get them off the ballot at long last (0 for 19 now)

Love those quotes from Kent. Funny to put what might end up to be 2 HOFers together as roomies as rookies. Kent's draft year was buried in 1B HOFers - Frank Thomas, Bagwell, and Thome. Of course Delgado was an IFA then.

2 Canadians on the panel-Fergie Jenkins and Doug Melvin. Hopefully they push Delgado with the other voters. Sadly my gut says they will vote in Mattingly & Murphy-very good players but not HOF. They (+Delgado & Kent) were top 10 MVP 4 times in their careers. For pure peak candidates that is poor.

It is pretty simple. The more fragmented Europe is the easier for Musk and the billionaire crew to gain power - they take over smaller nations one by one (ala the USA) until they have it all. With the EU though it is much harder because they cannot force things through as easily.

Damn, that makes zero sense - the 40 man has 2 open slots, and Rodriguez is owed a lot the next 2 years ($11 mil total) plus a $6 mil player option in 2028. Can only see it as a method to see if anyone would take him for nothing.

True, the game has changed, but now I think 250 is needed if you don't have a 'wow' peak. By wow I mean multiple Cy's, leading in ERA+ a few times, or at least a few K titles. Buehrle only made 5 ASG, once got Cy votes, 4 Gold Gloves, 12 black ink points. Nowhere near enough with just 214 wins.

Always saw him as a HOVG, not HOF. Very good player who was close, but needed to make it to 300 wins imo to be in the HOF - much like a few others from a few decades ago - Sutton, John, and more recent guys like Moyer, Colon, etc. All might sneak in someday via a vets thing.

Bwahaha! Really? Morris had great teammates who scored a lot for him, but by any measure, outside of run support and pen support, Dave Stieb was easily the better pitcher. I suspect Saberhagan was too.

From ballotpedia.org/Election_res... I see R's won 43 seats by 15% or less. In 2020 the senate saw 9 seats won by R's with under a 15% margin (lowest to highest - NC, IA, ME, TX, MS were sub 10%, MT, SC, KS, AK 10-15%). Flip all of those and the D's have majorities in both houses - possible.

These TV 'news' shows really need to stop platforming anti-trans scum and actually put on real trans people. It is like when they'd complain about black lives matter with an all white panel, or talk about abortion with an all male panel. C'mon, put someone on who actually is affected by this stuff.
