Next week, October 21, the Senate Agriculture Committee will markup the “Fix Our Forests Act” (FOFA), S. 1462, a bill that would open the door for widespread logging across federal forests under the false pretense of wildfire prevention.

Burn marks included, beauty shines in every phase of their life. Join us in sharing this message through our action alert, to stop the trojan horse that is “Save Our Sequoias Act”: johnmuirproject.org/take-action/...

Since 1890, Sequoia National Park has protected the world’s largest trees. Giant sequoias remain a cornerstone of our research at the John Muir Project, reminding us that fire is part of their story, no matter the narrative spun.

Roadless areas are some of our last truly intact wild places--home to rare wildlife, sacred cultural sites, and the clean water we all rely on. Tell Congress: it's time for real, permanent protections.

While harvesting pine cones from a forest and growing trees from their seeds in a nursery for future reforestation efforts was sold as a feel good story, it was built around a false narrative that ultimately promotes logging as a supposed climate change hero.

In Part 1 of our 3-part Substack series, we break down Section 50301. The section that mandates millions more trees sold into the chainsaw pipeline, locks in long-term logging contracts, and sidelines biodiversity protections. Read the full write-up here the thread ⤵️

What’s hiding in H.R. 1? Even without the public land sell-off provisions, H.R. 1 still sets the stage for a devastating expansion of extractive and industrial activity across our public lands. Keep reading in the thread ⤵️🧵

It's #NationalForestWeek, and we're taking back the narrative. National Forests are not timber stockpiles, fire hazards, or resource banks for industry. They're ancient, living ecosystems, home to iconic species, clean water, and massive carbon stores critical for climate stability.

🌿 On #RachelCarsonDay, we're honoring a trailblazer who redefined what environmental responsibility really means - a moral commitment to life on Earth. She reminded us that protecting the environment is a public responsibility, and that science should guide policy.

10,000 acres. No review. No input. No oversight.

The 'Fix Our Forests' Act would let massive logging projects move forward--unchecked.

Tell your Senators: VOTE NO on FOFA, at our action alert in the thread.

A forest bill that is:
🌱 Science-based ❌
💰 Industry-backed ✅

Please take the time to urge your senators to VOTE NO on FOFA at the link below; there’s limited time 🕰️ johnmuirproject.org/take-action/...
