Me and my friends would've killed this thing with hammers I can tell you that much.
Just as you thought food delivery companies couldn't inflict any more misery on society:

Instead of using lowly-paid gig economy contractors to deliver groceries, they're replacing humans with robots, who, in turn, force humans off the pavement into road traffic.

it's hard to think of another situation where you can kill someone and essentially get away with it. driving 25% over the speed limit, on the wrong side of the road – and she's allowed back behind the wheel before this guy's poor kids are finished with school

People should have to do a stint in retail so they can learn to be friendly to retail workers, yes. But people should also do a stint in retail so they can easily recognise bullshit sales days for what they are

absolutely massive news from the EU's top court! while it doesn't force every EU country to perform same-sex marriages, it *does* require them to recognise same-sex marriages from other countries the same way they recognise other foreign marriages

it's a big step!

absolutely horrific story, and belies the misogyny inherent in so much anti-trans sports stuff: the absolute disbelief that a girl or woman could be just be great at something, and the assertion that there's only one way for girls and women to look

the poor child could be scared off playing

made a bunch of my christmas orders from @kennysbookshop.bsky.social – the *first* online bookshop, so the legend goes

they've a huge selection, loads of good deals, and free shipping in ireland (and not too expensive to mainland europe)

great idea if you're lazy but don't want to support amazon

Belgium stays winning
Video of this train in Belgium spray painted with a message calling Israel a ‘terrorist state’ has gone viral online. Earlier this year, the Belgian government imposed sanctions and an arms embargo on Israel, before the Gaza ceasefire which Israel has violated nearly 500 times.

EU commission president von der Leyen said today the EU isn't fighting fossil fuels, only the *emissions* from fossil fuels

total nonsense, we can't separate fossil fuels from carbon emissions

even IF we could, they're a disaster for health, nature & human rights even before you burn them

how's that 'gold-plating' of EU environmental rules going, micheál martin?? the EU's top court found that ireland has been in breach of lots of water rules, including just never implementing some of them at all

as well as harming people and nature, this leaves the door open for massive fines
