Now you’ve got me wondering what the Pope has in his record collection. 15 in 1970. Does he kick off his red satin slippers and put on some Joni Mitchell, or prefer something heavier like Led Zeppelin, or the country rock of Eagles?

When I was a kid in the evening of Christmas Eve we’d have the same meal of cold meats, baked potatoes and lots of sides, then open our presents and then go to midnight mass, all the legacy of a German ancestor. These days only the meal part survives, but I still love it.

Shocking. I imagine future payments will be levelled down rather than up though.

I loathe ‘uni’ in place of university. I think it’s an Australianism we didn’t hear before the popularity of Neighbours.
