Incredible thread about police interrogation techniques, coercion and the reliability of "confessions".
Most people think police coercion is about breaking the will. It is, but it’s more than that. It’s also about loosening your grip on reality until you are so adrift that you cling to whatever narrative the police offer you, even one that sends you to prison.

I have no problem with the *concept* of a Department of Government Efficiency... the federal budget is line-by-line list of handouts, cronyism and gifts to the biggest campaign financers.
Unfortunately for me, I wouldn't trust the people running it to hold my wallet for a full minute.
