I am so much more entertained these days by hearing people tell me about superhero stories than actually reading them. Wacky!

Well. I had no idea they all dated. (Not much of a Marvel Girl.) But yeah, I'm all for "superhero women drink together" stories.

Same! But I woke up at 6 so yeah. Early lunch.

Ha! I'm all for books for anyone, including those covering sexual content, but I don't need Yet Another Dude's Perspective, myself.

Most of those I can think of immediately that are set in a past era are given modern spins. Or perhaps those are just the ones that most interest me.

I should elaborate: I don't think anyone can or should do a truly faithful adaptation. Take, for example, the bigotry inherent in The Sign of Four. That problem exists to greater or lesser degree in most Holmes stories.
