So I played around with Affinity and it's undeniably good. This eliminates the need for all but pro users doing 2d/print work from spending $70/mo on CC! easy choice over gimp, inkscape or krita.
They also combined all 3 apps onto a single canvas which I've wanted ever since SuperPaint (1986)
