One of the most astounding things about this government is their failure to grasp the primary lesson from the last one was so obviously "Don't mess about with Comms all the time, just do stuff that will probably work".
This is why there's a whole chapter in my book about the damage the grid has done to policy making.

My 13-year old daughter, who loves playing football, just noticed that Fifa has given Trump a peace prize. So I've had to explain to her who and what a terrible, vainglorious and probably corrupt person Infantino is. This is happening across an entire generation this weekend. I hope he's happy.

I just don't understand this. They lent money to a company that couldn't pay it back. They are therefore welcome to take over its business and obligations. If its debts mean it is not a going concern, then the creditors need to take a haircut.

The whole "show Adolescence to kids" thing is really weird. The biggest problem in that show was parents and teachers not having a clue. It should be compulsory viewing for school governors, not kids. "Is this happening in your school? How do you know?"
