Something I was just reminded of is how much even American road infrastructure is struggling to cope with our exploding vehicle sizes. Highways now can only accommodate 1.6k vehicles per hour instead of 1.8 (-12%) and parking in legacy cores often doesn’t fit these cars.
The American regulatory regime has diverged so sharply from the rest of the globe that combined with Americans higher buying power we consume cars that aren’t just too expensive; they are often illegal or highly impractical to own elsewhere. You’re not parking a Suburban in Florence.
