Walton scored 32 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in 41 minutes of action, but the Blazers fell to the Boston Celtics, with Cowens scoring 22 points and grabbing 18 rebounds in 40 minutes of play. "Walton is a good player," said Cowens, adding, "He's a fine player and very tough to handle." For Walton, who finished with 36 points and 22 rebounds two days ago against the Atlanta Hawks, it is the fourth time he has recorded at least 30 points and 15 rebounds in the 61 games he has played to date with Portland. For the Blazers, guard Danny Anderson played a strong second game in a row. "Dan handled their press very well and then when he got the ball up, he was patient enough to be sure that we got into something," said Portland coach Lenny Wilkens. "Bill was going so good, we wanted to be sure we got him into it every time. Dan made sure that we did." After scoring 14 points in the Atlanta game, Anderson came off the bench to score 7 points, grab a career-high 7 rebounds and pass for a career-best 8 assists in 27 minutes of play.
