I was jumped recently on Twitter for responding "no u" to someone misgendering me (called me a "moid"), because saying "no u" to her misgendering me was "calling a trans woman a man" - nothing about misgendering me, or that I simply said "no u", though.

I've seen some (on Twitter) unironically argue that misgendering a non-binary person isn't as bad as misgendering a binary trans person.

How do these people correctly understand that treating a binary trans woman as a man is violence, but they completely fail to see why the same is true for treating a nonbinary person as a woman when they're not?

I'm going to fucking scream. This ENTIRE ANTI-TRANS HYSTERIA was started by online edgelords relentlessly bullying nonbinary people, especially femme-presenting ones with brightly colored hair. That hatred was a radicalizing force for huge swaths of the alt right. Did we just forget that?
