My favorite thing about Carol of the Bells is that basically everyone, especially right wing Christians I know (ie. Parents), particularly love the TSO version. But those people would be horrified to learn that TSO was founded by "evil" heavy metal greats and still involves them.

Cool. Where is that candidate? I get the blue choice, the red choice, and a small percentage of the time a 3rd party (who may be just as bad) who absolutely isn't going to win. In less dire times, sure, vote for that 3rd one if they are good.

Had to go read up on floating dpads. What I would love to see come back, ay least as an option thing to purchase, is the nes max style "dpad". I really liked those for some games.

Yes and no. I view "Vote blue no matter who" as "However useless they are, they are still more likely to do the right thing than the other guys". This is still obviously not ideal, we shouldn't have to choose between "definitely going to fuck us just because" and "might not fuck us if it helps them"

100%. Anything we care about in my house gets a physical purchase. My wife paid for the Doctor Who Xmas specials to "own" digitally a couple years ago on prime. We were never able to access them. Bought physical discs of them the next year

A great explanation of that which I have seen is that the Austin Powers movies were better Bond movies than the real ones. Instead of trying to up the ridiculousness, they went more serious.

Congrats! I used to be an ok runner. Went full on cycling because running beat me up too much. I still help ymca coaches when I can convince one of my kids to do ymca cross country.
