Decided to give the first three episodes of Idol Precure a shot.
I think it's a lot of fun. I've watched a couple episodes of a few different series and, while I've enjoyed them, none have really given me the feeling of "oh I HAVE to see where this goes," but at least for now this one has me hooked.

I feel like mecha anime fans have a something of a fixation on the “canonical works” of their genre in a way that you really don’t see with other sorts of western otaku. Is that just my perception or does anybody else get that impression?

Gonna make one of those anime opening quiz videos but all the songs are like deep fried or drowned out by machinegun fire and the difficulties are all based off of my perception of what's popular based off of vague recollections of browsing anime forums 20 years ago
