Sometimes you just get a good feeling about a game. I don't know what it was, but I spent the last couple of days really looking forward to tonight's match. Was convinced we were going to score a bundle and play really well... like a side on the up.

And then I watched *that*. Just painful.

I agree last night was certainly an easier watch than the weekend, and yes, there are positives to take from it.

At the same time, it's a tiny bit soul-destroying that we're in yet another season where we're spending so much time finding silver linings and "looking for positives" in defeat.

That's not Yanis Varoufakis by the way. It's an AI-generated video.

On top of that, I'm fairly sure if they're ever thrown in the back of a van by men with shiny boots and shaved heads, wrapped in a national flag, the centrists will still find a way to convince themselves it's all the fault of the lefties.

Agree 100%.

Always my favourite back in the 70s / early 80s. Not had one since I got back to Ireland a few years ago (I assume they still exist?) for fear they changed the recipe, like they change everything... for the worse... and it doesn't live up to my memory.

Ah, I know. It's just a running joke* I have when a band I love doesn't include Dublin on a tour. I blame brexit or suggest some other ridiculous reason why we're missing out.

Hurts extra as I only discovered your music a year ago. So didn't see you play last time.

* Not saying it's a good joke.

Well, if I may provide some balance. I actually laughed out loud at the "legitimate concerns" bit. And it's pretty unusual for a Spurs podcast to elicit even a faint smile of late.

But as a lefty who wouldn't say no to a glass of bubbly if one were offered, my endorsement may not be very helpful.

Listening to it again and I'm no longer detecting that sense of foreboding.

I suspect the general background level of sinister foreboding has caught up with, and overtaken, this record.

2025 Vs 2012, innit?

As usual I'm waiting until all the episodes are available before checking it out. Probably end up watching it in a couple of days over Christmas.
