Today Director @Michelle Kaufman spoke at a dissemination event in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Speaking via live stream, she presented the preliminary findings from a Gender Equity Unit-supported study aimed at strengthening LGBTIQ+, trans, and gender-diverse rights policies in the South American nation.

Many countries we work with are adapting better measurement to include more precise terms for sex, such as male, female, and intersex.

They are distinguishing these from terms referring to gender like man/boy and woman/girl, which have more to do with identity and social constructs.
