"A little out of place
A little out of tune
Sorta lost in space
Racin' that moon
Climbin' the walls
Of a hurricane
Still overall
I can't complain..."

Some afternoon sun backlighting cottonwoods along the Merced River...I ducked behind the pine tree to avoid lens flare...

A couple of images of a hillside in a very rural part of Alameda County...the falling shadows caught my eye, as did the new green grass from recent rains. In some areas it first shows up in the shade of trees...

My two favorite local trees on a very gray start to the day today

It’s a gray morning with valley fog today, so here’s an image with a little autumn color…

Drove a couple of roads I hadn't been on for a couple of decades today. Rural roads that now have speed humps and rumble strips to slow one down...all while no shoulder and maybe a stripe down the middle. They're now a freeway alternative in the commute hours, and I don't wish that commute on anyone

Mostly a low-lying valley fog with a little controlled burn/campfire smoke mixed in...the valley was in shadow and the early morning air was cool

For Waterfall Wednesday...the last little bit of light on the pine tree caught my eye...

Time to hit a trail or two..or three...

This scene, and others like it, are so kaotic and beautiful. It's like I need a cone of silence to process them

This scene is not "too" far from a favorite trailhead...I find it very easy on the eyes in the shadows, whether in the morning before the sun hits it or later in the day as the sun sets. The details in the canyon wall are revealed wonderfully

Aspen and granite...
The sun had dropped below the ridgeline high above this slope, and warm light reflected from the other side of the canyon on this scene. Later, when the shadows further enveloped the canyon, the blues really set in...
