I timed the telling so that it satisfied something, some taste or other, some aesthetic sense, some sort of need. I prepared the way for a turn in the story, so that it seemed inevitable when it came even though you didn't anticipate it. I gave the characters enough depth to seem real while they were in front of you, and for a while afterwards. I put in just the right amount of detail so the person listening could see what I was describing in their mind's eye without being overwhelmed by things that didn't matter. I was making art, you see...I was shaping things. Making patterns. I was just like someone thousands of years ago sitting under a tree carving crisscross lines on a stick with a sharp bit of flint because they enjoyed looking at it. Or another one cutting holes in a bone and blowing through it and making different notes because they enjoyed hearing it. Or beating a hollow log for people to dance to. Rhythms and patterns and...and resemblances. And things that led from them, like metaphors.

been living on soup and tea for 3 weeks b/c i couldn’t taste anything & my throat hurt, so i decided to try their croque madame grécque on sourdough, and the rosemary ham is inspired. first time eating out in a reeaaally long time, and this is so tasty.

Trying Anthos for the 1st time to get my mom chicken avgolemono soup since she’s under the weather, & having grown up near Tarpon Springs, FL, i have to say, Anthos looks incredibly promising.

not a babby, but Jaz is the most mellow girl who is blissful AF if she’s under another cat or wedged into the smallest of comfy blanket spots. she’d have a weighted blanket w/her at all times if she were hooman
a small, mostly black tortoise shell cats sleeping on a light blue Paisley blanket on the couch. She has wedged herself into the corner of the arm and the back of the couch because that’s how she likes to sleep.

Holy shit, South Park, well _done_.
I only saw yard signs for the Republicans running for the supervisor seats, and Foster ran a particularly aggressive campaign. As well, it felt very R at the polling site, so i’m a little shocked, tbh!

They're being told to fill out provisional ballots, the same ones MAGA often tries to claim shouldn't be counted. State officials say they're working to deliver updated poll books to all polling stations. If you see any attempts to interfere with voting, report them immediately. it’s THE perfect trick or treat night but i’ve been sick all week & feel 😷 tonight, so i’m having to phone it in this year, which i haaate
but everyone’s been super cool re: unmonitored candy bowl and i’ve had refill the potato bowl 4x. i heard THEY HAVE POTATOES!! thru the window about 6 times 🥔💀

There are two scarecrows next to the steps leading up to the front door, and there are white pumpkins on the steps leading up to the front door and there is a bowl of candy out front with a sign on it. It is night time and there are gray clouds behind the house A glass front door at the top of cement steps. There are two bundles of corn husks on either side of the door to one pumpkin on either side of the door. They’re both orange there is a big silver bowl of candy with a sign on it that says please take what you want. Just make sure you leave enough for everyone else and then parentheses it says I have a cold. I’m so sorry to miss your costume this year. There’s also a bowl of potatoes next to the candy. I’ve had to refill a bowl of potatoes four times. the entire photo has a purple hue because of the porch light being purple
