I had that very specific late-century Florida childhood every middle grade author wishes they’d had
peeing in a stall at Sheetz & Gin Blossoms comes on the radio & the lady in the other stall & i both burst out with “Whispers at the bus STOP!” in our separate stalls & that was the most bonding w/a human that wasn’t my family i’ve done in _weeks_, just realized

need more local friends, probably

i’m nearly fully recovered from my exhausting, almost sleepless 3-week illness,,

just in time for “How is it Not Bedtime for 4 Whole Hours??” season

weird to have so much energy again all of a sudden, especially when the circadian rhythms decided just this week to declare, “the _fuck_ you do”

the 2nd book of The Book of Dust had every character on their own, & it was stressful
fine—b/c dramatic arcs—but i’m on Part 2 of the final book, & just as reunions should be happening—no dice >:-(

His Dark Materials had so much character interaction/relationship-building—which made it SO good

We're primarying John Fetterman.

Last week, Fetterman again sold out working Pennsylvanians. He was the deciding vote for a Republican budget bill that will strip healthcare from over 400,000 Pennsylvanians.

We deserve real working class leadership in the Senate, not a Trump-enabling Democrat.

so it’s BOGO on boycotts
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

another week of incredibly dense coursework had me resigned to losing my potential “summa cum laude” attempt this semester, but i managed to keep my head above water with the quizzes. i’d expected to flat-out fail one of them, but got an 86%

Re-listening to the audiobooks in the trilogies His Dark Materials & The Book of Dust before listening to the final book just published (The Rose Field), and ohhh lordy I forgot how distressing The Secret Commonwealth can feel in these times.

Honestly, Castle Shannon rocks, & i need to come here more often, as it’s so close.
Trying Anthos for the 1st time to get my mom chicken avgolemono soup since she’s under the weather, & having grown up near Tarpon Springs, FL, i have to say, Anthos looks incredibly promising.

The four-year-old that I work with pulled me down close to their face today and said “hey. I love you a lot” for the first time today. 🥹

I’m going to start taking note of the addresses of houses that still have any kind of Trump signage in their yard or on their house, and mail them a postcard that just says “seriously? you’re still supporting a pedophile?”

I feel like we need to make them squirm at any opportunity we get.

instant block to anyone hoping/joking/wishing Fetterman gets worse.

he has 3 kids, ffs

i absolutely hope he retires—to take better care of himself, spend time w/his family, & let someone more aligned with his constituents’ values represent PA.
but wishing him ill is beneath contempt.

weird thing i have 0 guesses about, but is actually happening: there’s an intersection where my car’s wifi or bluetooth makes carplay disconnect from my phone.
it reconnects as soon as i’m ~100 ft past it, & it’s happened 6/6 times now. cellular on phone isn’t affected, just the connectivity to car
