I totally hear this. I have found a partial solution in enjoying non-US Christmas things right now. I’m listening to a J-pop / K-pop Christmas playlist right now and it has the holiday vibes but it’s not something I’ve heard eleventy billion times.

The contortions that supposedly “progressive” politicians will put themselves into to avoid ticking off the centrist crowd are Olympic-level. I think women who’ve risen to the level of Harris and Hillary are especially good at that - they’ve had to be (they believe).

It’s a huge aggravating mess.

The Mapping Deportations project has an animated timeline of who gets deported in the US. In the 1910s the US starts deporting more Mexicans than any other group & doesn't let up through the present day. You can follow which groups are the targets of immigrant panics pretty clearly.
