"Ooh, hope they're OK! Also…was it energetically precise?"
"What?"
To my mind, setting off physical symptoms isn't too tough—but letting characters use an energetic laser-cutter (not a flamethrower) gets you way more bang for your buck.

- "Cozy" game with a romance route? Yeah, sure, but you're also getting (mild) emotional damage
- Area nerd jokes about medical complexity (same, bud)
- One schnorf, as a treat

Working with this team's always a joy, and I'm so grateful to have gotten to pop back into the world of "Royal Duality"/"The Deity Machine!" 🐊

The first picture I ever took of Elizabeth was with my character's arms outstretched and her in the middle of her photo-mode attack animation so that it looked like she was leaning in for a hug.

The context for these goes "Eh, it's kinda loud in this self-serve dog-wash," "I SMELL RICE" (she loves rice), "Hello. Is that part of your breakfast for sharing?" and then 1 majestic one.

These two were 10 when I was born. They were very gentle with me in the 8.5 years we lived together.
They'd also get into quarterly "boxing matches" with their sibling that clarified how gentleness was an active choice. 😅🤣

That's nice because 1) she can eat, drink, snuggle, etc without reduced mobility and 2) she'll have dinosaurs or sharks on—Yara + I visited on a dino day. 😆

TL;DR - I agree with you.
I also think that deliberately turning the always-avail "product mode" OFF sometimes is *absurdly* useful re: the ability to feel agency over your work as an artist.

Amnesiac Damsel: Terra ("FF6")
All Rage: Logan Howlett ("X-Men")
Catty & Caustic: Astarion ("BG3")
But I'm a Playboy: Sylvain ("FE:3H")
The key thing's that none of them are *just* that once you get to know them.
