Also wanted to say, we did our best to catch all the books mentioned, but I know there were a couple glitches with the hashtag not updating right away sometimes, so sorry if we missed anyone’s vote! #LibFaves25
And here is the incredible spreadsheet full of awesome book recommendations to make your TBR explode! Happy reading, everyone! #LibFaves25 docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

Day 10 #libfaves25: THE FERRYMAN AND HIS WIFE by Frode Grytten. ‬It’s just beautiful and has stuck with me since I finished it back in June!
December 18, 2025 at 3:38 PM
Day 9 #libfaves25: THE BOOK OF ALCHEMY: A CREATIVE PRACTICE FOR AN INSPIRED LIFE by Suleika Jaouad. Such a wide range of fascinating essays and thought-provoking journaling prompts. Contributors include Hanif Abdurraqib, Jon Batiste, Elizabeth Gilbert, just to name a few.

Day 8 #libfaves25: National Book Award winner, ONE DAY, EVERYONE WILL HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AGAINST THIS by Omar El Akkad. An important look at the failure of the West to live up to its vaunted values.

Midday #LibFaves25 update: THE CORRESPONDENT has pulled into the lead with 5 votes; AUTOMATIC NOODLE has joined VICTORIAN PSYCHO, DEATH OF THE AUTHOR, and WILD DARK SHORE in the 4 vote club. There's still lots of time for things to change. Stay tuned! 💙📚

Day 7 #libfaves25: AUTOMATIC NOODLE by Annalee Newitz. August's
@libraryreads.bsky.social Top Pick--A cozy sci fic novella featuring obsolete robots opening up a noodle shop... because of course.

Day 6 #libfaves25: THE LISTENERS by Maggie Stiefvater. June’s @libraryreads.bsky.social Top Pick—Stateside WWII, espionage in a luxe setting, and a touch of Appalachian magic.

Time for me to pass the baton to our next #LibFaves25 volunteer. At last check we had 212 unique titles, and the tied top titles are still: The Correspondent, Death of the Author, and Wild Dark Shore. BUT a few new titles might be gaining momentum. Our count down continues through 12/17.

Midday update: We've added 27 distinct titles for a total of 199 and the tied top titles are: The Correspondent, Death of the Author, and Wild Dark Shore. Remember, you can still jump in! Count down your 10 favorite books published in 2025, through 12/17. TITLE in caps, tag #LibFaves25!

And my pick for Day 5 #libfaves25: A MURDER FOR MISS HORTENSE by Mel Pennant featuring an exceptionally observant Aunty in a Windrush community outside of Birmingham, England. This a wonderful audiobook as well! I'm hoping it's a series starter!

And I'm up. Alright #LibFaves25 I'm seeing an early jump by Everything is Tuberculosis into the three vote category. What else did you love? You can still jump in! Count down your 10 favorite books published in 2025, through 12/17. TITLE in caps, tag #LibFaves25!
That's a wrap for my day monitoring #LibFaves25 -- passing it along to @jesstlibrarian.bsky.social 😁 What a fun day: we're up to 172 unique titles and Wild Shore, Victorian Psycho, The Correspondent, and Automatic Noodle are in the lead at the moment, but that can change in an instant!

The day almost got away from me. Day 4 #libfaves25: EVERYTHING IS TUBERCULOSIS: THE HISTORY AND PERSISTENCE OF OUR DEADLIEST INFECTION by John Green. As noted to before TB has loomed large in my genealogy & historical research and this was done well. Great audiobook too.
December 12, 2025 at 1:29 AM
Day 3 #libfaves25: This one just hit at a perfect time and hooked right into nostalgia, hitting another stage in life, and needing a laugh. Accurately described as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Golden Girls": SLAYERS OF OLD by Jim C. Hines

Day 2 #LibFaves25, I should note these are not in order for the most part. This book has really stuck with me (and made me want to spend more time outside), and I want to explore more. NATURE AND THE MIND: THE SCIENCE OF HOW NATURE IMPROVES COGNITIVE, PHYSICAL, AND SOCIAL WELL-BEING by Marc Berman.

Day 1 #LibFaves25 This was an odd year and I have *so many* books I want to suggest but I'm starting with one of my earliest 2025 reads: THE RIVER HAS ROOTS by Amal El-Mohtar. Murder ballads, Fae, and romance. @libraryreads.bsky.social Pick!

It begins today! #LibFaves25. When library workers from all over share their top 10 reads of the year; 1 a day for 10 days. Titles in all caps so volunteers can count them. I will be using the opportunity to highlight only horror titles so that they get included in the final tally.
