MP for Birmingham Yardley
A man genuinely came up to me on the street and said the Fabians were part of a new world order of control. Baffling that they can fit it in between pamphlets on prison reform.

It's a small thing to have a gripe about this morning but to all newscasters, the NEC is NOT in Birmingham!

Good luck to those getting results today it's my annual opportunity to say that on my A-level results day I met Victoria Beckham and Dane Bowers. So hope all have memorable experiences today!

Ozzy Osbourne was so proud of where he came from, and in return we were proud of him. Having met him and all of Black Sabbath it was always like talking to your Brummie uncle, kind, sarcastic, warm.

This is Zelda's law. For over 5 years she has tirelessly campaigned. She is my hero and it's been an honour to work with her. www.theguardian.com/la w/2025/jul/07/uk-bosses-to-be-banned-using-ndas-cover-up-misconduct-work?CMP=share_btn_url

I want Kartal to win, but that was mad unfair and any win now seems like it will be marred. Bring back the line judges.

My son is 20 tomorrow and am reminded of midwives who let my husband stay beyond the visiting time, pulled the curtain round and let us watch Eurovision together on the ward, 20 years ago.

My son is voting Estonia, I've just rejoined him after a aptly themed Swedish dinner.

I like Eurovision as much as the next superfan however I think it making the news delayed and frankly spreading from Saturday is a bit much.

"Fair is foul, and foul is fair". Good luck to everyone taking their first GCSE today, I will miss my son's random Macbeth pronouncements while undertaking mundane household jobs after today. "Out brief candle".

My mate Jules convinced my mate Jess that Sue Ryder was Grooverider's mom. Nothing funnier will ever happen. Ever!

I usually have no skin in the game because I am not a politician who pretends to care about football. But my little nephews do and their late mom did too. So today - Up the Villa!

My son told me that Michael Fassbender was on celebrity big brother. I questioned it, as it seemed unlikely....He meant Michael Fabricant

Sadly, another year when @jessphillipsmp.bsky.social reads the list of women killed by men. Tragic BUT Jess now taking real tangible actions to reduce this number. No one has more passion for this challenge.

Today I will read the list of names. One of the most privileged actions I take but also one of the toughest.
This needs blowing wide open, @jessphillipsmp.bsky.social >

“they may be less likely to contact services or disclose their experiences because they feel like they might not be believed, might be dismissed, or they might feel that they’re taking services away from younger women who need it more.”

Reminded today of the time I found myself in Ireland on Ash Wednesday as a kid. Totally baffled by everyone having a dirty mark on their heads.

Slowly but surely we will change the picture.

Called it.
My son and I are undertaking our annual tradition of watching all the Oscar Best Picture nominations. So far Anora is by far my favourite, he agrees, however predictably is staying true to Dune 2 (I've not seen it yet, because I haven't actually watched Dune 1 and who has 9 hours to spare?)

My 7 year old nephew, son of two music lovers said to me today that he thought my job was in Parliament Funkadelic. If only!

When you are doing media early on a Sunday morning and your son comes in from a night shift with a McDonald's breakfast for you. First steps, exam results, first jobs all made me proud but really felt this morning I'd nailed raising a good human.
