Back in 2020, many social landlords in the UK made anti-racist pledges in response to Black Lives Matter. I've gone back to find out what, five years later, has changed:

Black Lives Matter and housing – five years on
It’s been five years since social landlords made pledges for change in response to Black Lives Matter. Has there been a shift in the sector? Jess McCabe reports.

Tonight Inside Housing is up for an array of awards. I can't be at either ceremony unfortunately, but we have two covers shortlisted for cover of the year at the BSMEs, and we're in the IBP shortlist 12 times. The team at Inside Housing is really fantastic and I'm proud to work with them

If you were writing an internet etiquette book, what would you put in it? What's today's equivalent of leaving your elbows on the table? I would vote for "why are you bothering to report on X when Y is happening".

Put that sweet potato casserole thing with marshmallows on in the bin while you're at it
The best place to store pumpkin pie is in the bin, along with pumpkin soup and also pumpkin spice (which admittedly has nothing to do with actual pumpkins, but is also gross).

I will not be taking questions.

It is good to see cross-party challenge to overt racism in British political and media discourse: Labour MP Sarah Owen, who chairs the women & equalities select committee, challenges the racist claim from GB News contributor Lucy White that Deputy Speaker Nus Ghani should be barred from parliament
I know who Nus Ghani MP is - not because we always agree - but because she’s been serving her constituency (as well as lewks) since 2015.

Who the hell is Lucy White?!

Ah, a quick google search reveals her as a rentagob for GB ‘news.’

I know which one is qualified to chair the budget debate.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

This is so great, but at the same time absolutely wild that the New York system for allocating affordable housing works like this, it sounds like total chaos.
