If you listen to “The Rest is Politics US,” you know I regularly moisturise. One can never pack enough skincare. Additionally, I bring a pillbox of supplements, colostrum and the Baja Gold salt my friend Gary Brecka recommends for hydration. My hoarding tendencies come in handy when it comes to stock for my washbag, which I “borrowed” from my son Nick and permanently keep in my bag. It’s emblazoned with his golden initials and makes me feel less homesick. A gathering in Providence of public health officials from eight states this past week could lead to a new regional collaboration positioned to supplant the Trump administration’s oversight of some major public health services. Massachusetts health officials had already discussed the possibility of coordinating vaccine recommendations with neighboring states, rather than relying on federal health agencies for guidance. But in the wake of the meeting in Providence, officials said, participating states also considered how they could work collectively to maintain effective disease tracking and emergency response services in the face of the Trump administration’s damaging funding cuts and changing health priorities. The tools needed to prevent and monitor infectious diseases are on the minds of local public health officials as respiratory virus season approaches. They have expressed alarm federal authorities have not yet issued recommendations for COVID vaccinations this year, and there’s fear that under vaccine skeptic Robert Kennedy Jr., the US health secretary, the federal recommendations might not be based in credible science.

People are focusing on political grouping but the big ones to me are women having a bigger drop than men, middle income dropping less than low or high income, and poc dropping less than white people (whites still at a higher percentage but only just)

Today was bike to Costco (and home depot) day! Managed to keep it under $100 and didn't have to do too much tetris 😂
