The camera is the canon 70D. It had a common fault that bricked it. I could buy another BROKEN one and try the fix again... I would probably want to get a hot air gun though, might make it more doable 😅

I'm frustrated at my failure but I'm also frustrated that I could replace the entire main board but it costs roughly the same as buying the camera again used. So it'd basically be buying a 12 year old camera with extra steps

I could *maybe*, BIG maybe, bodge something for the missing pad, but I don't know the resistor value and I don't have any tiny resistors.

These components are way smaller and way more tightly packed for my skills

I can't gush enough about GB Studio. Its existence makes me happy!

Back in highschool I had to choose between pursuing graphic arts and computer stuff. I don't regret going with computers but I am a bit sad I lost the obsession with drawing that helps with developing those skills.

the only advice I can give is that it's ok not to code. Obviously not coding will limit what you can do with your own hands, which sucks, but you don't have to be good at everything or do everything yourself!

But keep at it if you want! Just don't make yourself suffer for it unless you want to

I hope you don't think I'm being patronizing about the node graph stuff. I do recognize there's often a difference in scale and sometimes complexity when comparing the two. I think of it as programming though.

Also I'm spending a lot of time with davinci resolve fusion node graphs lately!

I can see that being very frustrating. It's exciting that you're still interested in it?

What sort of game Dev do you do?

Have you worked with any node based workflows that many tools have? In my mind that's programming, just with node graphs instead of text files

Or Ben Eater's 6502 breadboard computer eater.net/6502

Do you mean coding in general or specifically in assembly?

I hope whatever it is passes soon. Loss of ability to focus is brutally frustrating and in my experience sooooo boring

Ironically that video is supposed to be me making educated guesses about how address decoding works. Essentially me making things up for fun 🤡
