Great crowd for the unveiling of the desegregation historical marker in downtown Harrisonburg. Students led this outstanding effort to document how student activism led to real change in Virginia. A companion exhibit is being launched at Rocktown History; come check it out!

Finished reading “The Indian Card” today. It’s a well-told non-fiction book that braids hundreds of years of history with a personal narrative of what it means to be Native American. Though not as humorous, the inviting writing style combined with facts reminded me of Sarah Vowell.

Say what you will, but since I started wearing Trump cologne my tie has gotten longer, my wig is more luxurious, and my bronzer is…bronzer. Gotta do something about the absolutely horrible people it attracts into my orbit, though. #stinkbait

There are also memorable insights and self-reflection in this best-selling humor book from the early 90s. #bookchallenge
