A speaker in opposition to the budget says she found it disturbing to see up to 6 police officers surrounding one homeless man at a grocery store.

We've had three speakers in a row who are opposed to logging (tree removal) in Stanley Park (due to looper moth infestation I believe?) and say they want more scrutiny on park board budget

Celena Benndorf supports the 0% property tax increase, but wants the city to try to make alcohol more expensive/harder to get to reduce policing costs.

A speaker in support says she believes she's in the majority - people just don't have time to call in.

She says she's reassured by the promise there will be no cuts to core services. Also thinks the English-language survey doesn't represent the city.

So I have this on in the background as I have other tasks to complete today. However, most speakers continue to be opposed. Around half of the speakers are not in attendance.

Mona Sun supports the budget, the zero per cent property tax increase will help with affordability in the city. Government should find ways to operate more efficiently before asking for more taxes.

Akshay Balakrishnan: Scrap the budget, try it again from the perspective of someone who actually wants to live here.

Shengli Ling, real estate developer: supports the budget, especially 0% property tax increase. This will help his business find stability, especially in the early stage of projects
