Katica Dusanic died in a man's SRO room in 2021. Police were investigating the death as suspicious. Then, the coroner showed up, and swiftly declared the death an accidental overdose - a decision that pretty much shut down the police investigation. thetyee.ca/News/2025/07...

I'm tuning back in to the marathon "people's filibuster" as people are calling it - 600 speakers, most of them opposed to ABC's proposed budget, are continuing to speak - carried over from yesterday. #vanpoli

A city councillor live-posted today’s “unofficial filibuster” of speakers opposed to budget cuts in Vancouver to deliver a property tax freeze for homeowners (the councillor is opposed to the proposed budget) #vanpoli
152: clear majority want a property tax increase. Our services shouldn’t degrade to cater to a small subset of the population. Already have one of the lowest tax rates in North America. This is just 16 cents per 100k in property value. So many own more than one property.

I'm dropping in to Vancouver city council today and can't live-skeet everything, but it's worth noting that there are currently over 600 speakers signed up to speak to the budget, which proposes finding $120 in savings to support a 0% property tax increase. #vanpoli
