I don't think I'll be logging what I watch/read here in 2026. Will still be around, mostly reading and liking posts, but I'm trying to do less social media.
Okay. Besotted with what? With who? I hope it's something good. ◡̈

2025 TV and Film year in review. You will see screen caps of my pivot tables, haha. I log stuff I watched on Excel, even though I log them on other platforms too (MDL, IMDB, TheMovieDB). I’m rather generous with ratings, as everything starts out 10, and I just deduct points. 1/10

TV#131. #StrangerThings S5 (2025)

Loved this last season a lot. We get closure – completed character arcs, questions about the upside down answered, new friendships formed, and old friendship bonds strengthened. That final boss fight was awesome. 9.5/10 #TVSky

Book#57. Up in Smoke by Ross Pennie (2013)

This book is the 3rd one in the Dr. Zol Szabo series. This medical mystery is so interesting and takes us into Ontario’s cigarette industry and shows tensions with the indigenous peoples’ tobacco trade. #Booksky

TV#130. #OurUnwrittenSeoul (2025)

What a lovely series. I'm glad this is the last #kdrama I watched this year as it ends on a hopeful note, with a potential happy future stretching ahead for our characters. #ParkBoYoung has come a long way since I first saw her in Oh My Ghost. 9.5/10 #TVSky

Just started watching Spy x Family. Anya is so cute. #Anime #TVSky

Book#56. If It Bleeds by Stephen King (2020) | Read by Will Patton, Danny Burstein, & Steve Weber

I own the ebook but borrowed the audiobook from the library. Two of the four stories in this book have been made into movies that I’ve yet to watch. All four are wonderful reads. Love Holly. #Booksky

TV#129. Miss S (2020)

This #Cdrama is the very definition of a cozy mystery series. The cases of the week aren’t really anything special but they’re interesting. Love the soundtrack and the costumes too. Glad I caught this before it leaves CBC Gem at the end of the month. 7.5/10 #TVSky

Book#55. The Haunting of Paynes Hollow by Kelley Armstrong (2025)

This horror novel has a strong gothic atmosphere. I quite liked how it uses a well-known legend as a jumping off point. There were certain characters I wish hadn’t died but overall I loved how the story wrapped up. #Booksky

TV#128. My Secret Romance (2017)

Rewatch. Still enjoyable many years later but seeing some red flags re the CEO lording it over his subordinate. Yoo Mi’s reticence irritates me more now too, but then this series is all about her overcoming that. I actually like her mom, haha. 8/10 #TVSky #Kdrama

Okay, time to watch #StrangerThings volume 2!

Film#101. Love 911 (2012)

Two souls who are traumatized from making bad decisions in life-saving professions meet and fall in love. Can be a bit cheesy, and I like the supporting character dynamics more than the main one, but still worth a watch. 7.5/10 #Filmsky

TV#127. The Killer’s Shopping List (2022)

This #kdrama was a surprisingly good watch; I loved the touch of diversity and the dynamics between different characters. The male lead needs to hone his acting skills a bit more, but otherwise, this was a nice cozy murder mystery. 7.5/10 #TVSky

Film#100. A Whisker Away (2020)

I adore this #anime. Beautiful hand drawn backgrounds, slice-of-life elements, and a lovely story. Very sweet and charming. This film animates the mannerisms of people and cats so well too. 9/10 #Filmsky

TV#126. The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse – S2 (2024)

Oh man, this season ends on a cliffhanger. Is the next season confirmed? Can’t seem to find any news on that. Love all the characters on this team a lot, much more than I did the original series. 7.5/10 #TVSky #Anime

Film#99. Stardust (2007)

Haven’t watched this one in ages. Charlie Cox looks so young! And Nathaniel Parker (DI Lynley!) plays his father! Very good cast, even the ones with minor roles. Enjoyable romantic fantasy adventure. 8/10 #Filmsky

TV#125. #Pluribus S1 (2025)

A strange science fiction series. I read rumblings about the pacing but I find it to be just right, and I am glued to the screen every episode. I love that the cast is diverse and the story shows what happened in different parts of the world. 9.5/10 #TVSky
December 24, 2025 at 9:04 PM
Film#98. The Miracle Club (2023)

A film set in 1967 Ireland about healing and forgiveness, as four women set out for a pilgrimage to Lourdes in search of their personal miracles. This was Dame Maggie Smith’s last acting role before she passed away in 2024. 7/10 #Filmsky
December 23, 2025 at 11:25 PM
TV#124. #Butterfly (2025)

It’s nice to see a good mix of American and Korean actors in one series. This one has nice action sequences and a great cast, but the story is a bit too simple for a spy thriller, where I typically expect convoluted plotlines. 7/10 #TVSky
December 23, 2025 at 6:58 PM
Book#54. #IronFlame by Rebecca Yarros (2023)

So the wait for this one on Libby was much shorter than for the first book, and I got the ebook this time rather than the audiobook. Very exciting follow up, with another jaw-dropping ending. This author seems to like cliffhanger endings! #Booksky

TV#123. #MyLadyJane (2024)

Witty, darkly comic, very sexy – this series is set in an alternate version of 16th century England where people who can turn into animals are persecuted. The sardonic narrator and the modern soundtrack adds to the charm. Wish it wasn’t cancelled. 8.5/10 #TVSky
December 21, 2025 at 9:56 PM
Film#97. #WakeUpDeadMan - A #KnivesOut Mystery (2025)

Another excellent whodunit, with thematic layers and great character work. The dark humour is still there and I was enthralled with following the unraveling of the mystery; I didn’t even notice that the film was 2.5 hours long. 8/10 #Filmsky
December 16, 2025 at 4:00 AM
TV#122. #ITWelcomeToDerry S1 (2025)

Season 1 is called Chapter 1 and I hope we get Chapters 2 and 3 as planned. This horror series pulls no punches and I love it so much, with the Easter eggs and the callbacks to other Stephen King places/characters. The child actors are excellent! 9.5/10 #TVSky

Book#53. #FourthWing by Rebecca Yaros (2023) | Read by Rebecca Soler and Teddy Hamilton

The first of five novels, I picked this up because the 3rd book was released this year and seems to be loved by many. I quite enjoyed the worldbuilding and mythology around the dragons and their riders. #Booksky
