My 8yo had a Thanksgiving "feast" at school, and it was awful, so I'm making a turkey and a few sides tomorrow so he knows feast food doesn't have to suck. Cornbread and sausage stuffing, fresh turkey, riced and mashed potatoes blended with too much butter, etc.
