I'm excited to share this first preview into our generative animation stack at 2nd Set AI. In this short animated piece, A Memory of Sun, we want to show storytellers of all kinds just how capable generative animation can be.

I also introduce a new test of human equivalence, the Banner Test, named in honor of @bernadettebanner.bsky.social . And like any true Berna Bro, I don't stop with the work until I continue it into the world of #guineapig #fashion.

Sharing more fiber work: I'm a beginning knitter, so this is one of my first knitted things ever. Made of some very fun core-wrapped wool yarn (with a wool core!) and given as a gift.

Another handmade 🎄 gift. A #krokbragd #handwoven wool rug with linen warps.

Made grandma a crocheted cotton lap blanket for 🎄. Bulky yarn is so fast and fun to make gifts with.

Sharing my latest article. It's all about the potential of #seaweed to reinvent the textile supply chain, starting with #handweaving. In the current issue of HGA's Shuttle, Spindle, & Dyepot.

And as always, it seems like folks aren't quite as adventurous in color as even promotional merchandising choices might imply. Neutrals are clearly still very central, even in marketing materials, across segments and price points.

Layering contrasting gauges of knits are still a thing, but maybe less front and center.

Did stuff change? You bet. The story is all about comfort and lots of relaxed fits and comfy sets.

In the "city as a platform" sense #SF is an incredible platform for physically exploring what's going on in tech.
Of course, what's going on in tech can have very apparent biases. e.g. This was happy hour near Yerba Buena with literally 0 women in the building.

Of course, when I was in big tech, I also spent a bunch of time on the weird mirror universes that are big tech corporate campuses. Massively overbuilt, full of amenities. And avoided by their staffs, because people live in houses along a choked up 101 and don't want to drive 2 hours a day.

I'm visiting #SF this week for the first time in a while.
The Bay area is such a strange combination of NorCal splendor and people who won't look up from their phones.

Starting off my #Thanksgiving by finishing this #handweaving and #handsewing project. It's structure is an overshot, with cotton and linen used for the base cloth and wool (from my flock at Governors' Island) as the pattern weft.
