I think everyone *presumes* that #genAI image models have copyrighted IP in them, but it's actually hard work to study this at scale. We built a tool that scans across a wide range of model providers and asset types. And it's free! 2ndsetai.substack.com/p/monitoring...

Howdy, #AnimeNYC! I'll be around all weekend talking about the future of #genAI and #animation. HMU if you want to talk about your next #comics or #animation project.
I'm excited to share this first preview into our generative animation stack at 2nd Set AI. In this short animated piece, A Memory of Sun, we want to show storytellers of all kinds just how capable generative animation can be.

Important linguistic debate to settle: now that everyone is #vibecoding what is our name for the old way of working? Raw dogging your development?

🔥 New startup alert! 2nd Set AI is tackling multimodal reasoning for visual generation—game changer! 🚀 This innovation could redefine how we interact with AI. Keep an eye on this one! #AI #Innovation
It's been a bit, but I'm back with big news. I've founded a new startup, 2nd Set AI. We're bringing true multimodal reasoning to the challenges of visual generation. More about us in this 🧵

This is frankly super exciting for the #opensource #AIresearch ecosystem.
With fresh support of $75M from NSF and $77M from NVIDIA, we’re set to scale our open model ecosystem, bolster the infrastructure behind it, and fast‑track reproducible AI research to unlock the next wave of scientific discovery. 💡

This post gets into just how much complexity there is for #genAI devs when working on model selection. There are so many models these days. Which is great but also a huge shopping hassle.

I've just put up a post about my latest attempt to characterize progress in #genAI imagery. Everyone knows stuff is getting better fast, but it's hard to translate into human meaningful terms.

🎻Concert Announcement!🎺
We're having a big free concert in NYC on March 4. Contemporaneous will be playing short pieces from a bunch of contemporary local composers (including me). The idea is something like an Open Mic night, but with a 23 person chamber orchestra. 🤯

Riffing a bit about what it's like to do #genAI dev work these days. The TL;DR is that #genAI is the only thing that makes working with #genAI sane.

Sharing more fiber work: I'm a beginning knitter, so this is one of my first knitted things ever. Made of some very fun core-wrapped wool yarn (with a wool core!) and given as a gift.

I've been so busy reading #NeurIPS papers and talking to people about #NeurIPS papers that I didn't even have time to skeet about #NeurIPS papers.
But then someone had to get all weirdly racist at #NeurIPS, and I had to drop this 🧵.

Finally had a chance to digest @nathanbenaich.bsky.social 's State of AI Report...
...just in time for #NeurIPS @neuripsconf.bsky.social to bury me in 100s of papers to read.
