It likely will never happen (see: $$$) but they should just cancel all the conference title games. The fact that this debate is even occurring says something.
To play, or not to play, in a conference championship game.

SEC fans are openly rooting for their teams not to make the title game. Are they right?

Maybe, but they may be operating on outdated data:

If Lane Kiffin takes the Florida job, two questions:
> 1. Will Florida let him coach Ole Miss in the playoffs?
> 2. Will Ole Miss let him coach Ole Miss in the playoffs?
Ole Miss has given Lane Kiffn a deadline of the Egg Bowl to decide whether he's taking another job, per my colleague Stewart Mandel.

Very intriguing.

The WH person? Paul “Nazi Streak” Ingrassia.

Smart hire by Virginia Tech.
Six days after he was fired, James Franklin went on ESPN’s “College GameDay” and made it clear he wanted to coach again.

Now he's the first major hiring of the coaching carousel.

Raheem Morris's all-time record as a head coach is 32-54 (.372). His record in this period with the Falcons is 11-16 (.407). He was handed a better team than maybe any HC in franchise history. Seriously. What more do you have to see?

Not good.
Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr is believed to have aggravated the same knee injury as earlier in the season, per me and Tom Pelissero.

That bone bruise in the same knee kept him out one game. More tests coming, but there is concern he’ll miss some time.

BTW, if the Panthers had kicked the PAT instead of going for 2 on their second TD, and had kicked a field goal instead of going for it on fourth down another time, they would be leading now instead of down 21-19. But, yeah, analytics, right, kids?

Penix out. Cousins in. More game tape for the Browns.

It's going to be funny this week when Zac Robinson makes 20 copies of this game tape for potential job interviews and burns all of the other ones.

Michael Penix now 9 for 10 for 131 yds ... for those who've jumped ship on him. He has flaws but he's young and he needs better coaching.

Three Carolina defenders could not bring down Bijan Robinson. Nobody can cover Drake London. Something is seriously wrong when a team with those two guys is 3-6 and isn't going to make the playoffs.
