I'm cheering @julieroginsky.bsky.social right now, saying she is furious about the Senate's "unconscionable" cave-in and that it's time for @schumer.senate.gov to go. She calls herself an establishment Democrat but says she is more aligned now with @sanders.senate.gov. Ditto here.

I can only hope that Kaine has bedhead because he lost sleep fucking over millions of uninsured Americans. He caved because he wants the votes of federal workers in Virginia. He lost the last shred of respect I still held for him.

Cavers. Turncoats. Chickenshits. Fuckers.

German journalism, as I said recently in Germany, are doing a much better job of covering Trump and the US than American journalists. For one, they call him stupid, which inspires this lead story in the Süddeutsche Zeitung:
How stupid can you be?

I wake up to see @maritzafelix.bsky.social, founder of Conecta Arizona and winner of the International Women's Media Foundation Courage Award, on MSNBC. She is a brilliant alum of the News Innovation and Leadership program I helped start at my last school. I'm kvelling.

Der Spiegel: "Trump no longer matters." This is about climate and how China now leads, but we can hope it will be an all-purpose headline....

Oh, my, Rupert's editorial board woke up on the wrong side of election day. #MurdochJournal

The #BrokenTimes still has it out for Mamdani. Where does that link to "observers'" criticism lead? To Fox News quoting Van Jones. FFS. He won, A.G. You lose...

Who's doing the booking on Morning Joe? Next was Fareed Zakaria diminishing Mamdani's victory. Then comes the odious Piers Morgan pumping his book, "Woke is Dead," on the morning after WOKE WON THE NIGHT! Read the room. Read the moment. Read the nation. Not Piers' book.
November 5, 2025 at 2:51 PM
On this morning of all mornings, Morning Joe books Greenblatt to announce his "Mamdani monitor" and stir coals. At least Joe does press him, hard.

Republicans try to turn national Democratic candidates into Mamdani copycats

Der Spiegel is impressed: The Socialist is the Democrats' new superstar and a model for Berlin's next election.
November 5, 2025 at 12:27 PM
The Post is literally red-baiting. Eat it, Rupert.

Lord, this is no way to start the week: The odious Galloway bringing his creepy obsession with young men's sex lives and his statistical filibuster to Morning Joe, as if he were the model for men. It must be nice to know it all. Oh, the hormonal hubris of him.

At such moments, I always quote James Carey. Polling preempts the public discourse it is intended to measure. From my Gutenberg Parenthesis:

Of course, The Times would feature this atop its home page. It so loves to hate technology.
November 2, 2025 at 3:16 PM
No. In fact (spoiler alert), the last words in my book, The Gutenberg Parenthesis, are: "Let the book be the book."
The opening of that afterword:

Oh, Lord, Ashley Parker and Joe Scarborough already pumping Rahm Emanuel for president. NFW.
October 31, 2025 at 11:28 AM
OMG: students discussing critical race theory and engaging in activism in college. I'm feeling faint. The reactionary #BrokenTimes hides behind a "charged debate." It's not Peters who calls college a "feckless workshop for leftist political ideology." It's "critics."
October 29, 2025 at 12:06 PM
The #BrokenTimes is engaging in outright red-baiting and joining the right-wing vendetta against both Mamdani and university education in this Jeremy Peters special exposing "leftist dogma" at Bowdoin. 1/
