A still-life of a new raven skull.
There's a story in the hollows of his eyes...

Ignore the hoodie. Just concealing a fresh facial injury.
But the raven...
I have just one Plak-mounted version...

It's a crispy cold morning here. I swear that's frost in my beard, not grey hair.
This here is my newest, painted on a smooth framed wood panel.

One thing I'll miss about this house is the good lighting I have in my painting area. It's crisp, yet not blindingly bright. Great for all-day art sessions.

Anyway...
I'll reveal better pics of this moody thing tomorrow after it dries.

This one is a fairly recent painting. It's featured in my newest art book, Serenity in Shadow.

My first thought, upon finishing her, was that she seems completely unconcerned about all the swords bound for her back...

How exactly she removed her heart without staining her veil...no one will ever know...

I painted this one on a smooth hardwood panel, framed and key-holed for easy hanging.

Every now and then, I pick up a smooth, framed wood plank on which to paint.
It's a completely different feeling than painting on canvas or gesso.
I liken it to sipping smooth red wine instead of sharp bourbon.

Ok internet...
I seek your wise opinion...
Which of these book covers (if either) do you prefer?
November 11, 2025 at 5:16 PM
Honestly, painting this one required no small amount of post-midnight madness...
