As a history teacher and writer, I’m begging you all: Stop putting the American Roaring 20’s on a freaking pedestal. Quit having Great Gatsby parties. The 1920’s were terrible. The 2020’s are headed that way. God, every time I see this garbage I want to scream.

At this point, sadly, I’ve lost most of my interest in Stranger Things. I’ll be watching this last season because I’ve already invested so much time in the story. HOWEVER, if the shows kills off Steve—the best dad to an unruly bunch of kids—I riot.

I was friends with a guy from high school on FB. We were friends IRL. Not close, but still friends. We hung out a little post-hs, too. Saw his profile as a mutual friend on FB. Hadn’t thought about him in a while. Checked out his page. Full on MAGA. He was always an alterna-boy. “Down w/the man.” 1/

Cancer blows. Had my tongue surgery on Wed. All the cancer = gone, along w/a lot of tongue. There’s still a lot of tongue left, but it’s jarring to see. My fiancee is a speech path & thinks I’ll be talking like normal in a couple weeks. Is it weird to mourn my lost pieces of tongue? B/c I do.

Bummed that Marvel is shutting down its Ultimate line. Ultimate Spider-Man & The Ultimates are 2 of my favorite ongoing series right now. A happy Peter Parker as a family man? A group of familiar heroes reimagined in really interesting ways? Perfect. I love the books, so of course they get canceled.
