We've made this for the last 2 years, it's delicious.

Thank you. My partner has RA and gets aching hands from the cold, so will put my crochet skills to the test and make her some.

Do you mind me asking for the pattern for your lovely handwarmers please?

That would make me sad too. Little things like that can bring so much joy. Hope you feel better soon.

I know what you mean. As I've got older, I've taken the approach of it's better than the alternative!

Swifts are high on the list, but I love the sound of the ravens kronking as they fly over being chased and harried by crows.

#FirstBirdOfMyDay a very scruffy looking magpie, looked embarrassed to be out in that state!

Dunnock, searching the patio for food. Just put some seed out to make it easier in the heat.

A wood pigeon. Been away for a few days staying in a house where I could hear no birds. Grateful to come home to the screaming swifts last night and the early wood pigeon this morning.

There they are. Blows my mind every year to think how far they've flown to get here. "Our swifts", like returning friends. Please use our nest box this year.

I love your writing Kate. It's hard not to feel hopeless sometimes, I'm trying to focus on the things I can influence like the support I can give to wildlife. Your book has given me new ideas. Starting tomorrow with finding out who owns a big building down the road with scaffolding up! Thank you.

Peregrines and now your swifts are back - what a joyful time. It's the tripping over my own feet time off year! Nothing in north worcs yet, can't wait for them to arrive back on our street.

Me too, on a different day. Looking forward to it.

We love our allotment but saddened by how many people use weedkiller and slug pellets. Ours is a little wildlife haven with a pond, can only keep doing our bit. Am sure other allotmenteers were laughing at our abysmal slug-eaten produce last year!

That's cute. What did you choose?
