Just a cruisy ride on my way to Otago Polytechnic. 😎

No Albany street cycleway yet, so using the museum reserve and crossing @universityofotago.bsky.social campus instead.

Utrecht (city of 377k population) receives €562 million (NZ $1.1 billion) from the government to build tramlines to Merwede.

As the council says; “because without a tram line the city would be one massive traffic jam”.
November 11, 2025 at 9:11 AM
Jeez. Didn’t think we had traffic jams in the morning. 😅

Stretching from the oval all the way into the city.

Build for just cars, you will get just cars (and lots of traffic).

Such a beautiful day for a bike commute. 😍

We are the biggest city in the country. 😋
November 8, 2025 at 9:45 AM
Great day for a cycle. Grey but 25 degrees. 😎

I love my new hood 😍

1-minute from the bus stop, a mean-ass speed table that slows down even big UTE’s (which is plastic, by the way) + more speed tables in my street and 30kmh zone.

When I bought the house, instead of champagne or flowers, I got an epic printout of st Clair. Which is pretty cool 😎

And it just fitted in my tiny Suzuki swift 😂🚗

That’s a very cheap trip back to Christchurch Airport 😅
November 7, 2025 at 12:32 AM
Last morning commute along George Street. Figuring out my bike route this weekend for my daily commute. 😍👏
November 6, 2025 at 7:18 PM
Back to the airport. By bus. And not stuck in a traffic jam. 😎

And woohoo the 29 does take bank cards. 🚌

Photo dump! Always a treat to go to Christchurch city. 😍

Lots of new builds compared to the last time I went.

So no fancy bed, but that means I can spend it on some fancy hospitality which I’d rather do.

Went for the Venison Taranaki and Cos Salad with blue cheese, walnut and bacon bits @ Rascal. OMG Yumm!! 😍😋

Staying at Drifter. Fancy hotel vibes, but hostel rooms as I’m poor after buying a house now. 😅🙃

Can recommend if you need a fancy vibes, but cheap accomodation. Comes with a whole workout studio a la Les Mills style. And the best location; around the corner of the bus hub.
November 4, 2025 at 5:07 AM
Christchurch what’s up? Busses don’t work with bank cards at the airport. 🤦‍♀️

And waiting in a hot glass box isn’t ideal either.
November 4, 2025 at 2:42 AM
Put them a bit closer together, move them to the right location and you have a seperate bike lane 😁🚲
November 4, 2025 at 12:12 AM
Just a casually walk to the airport. 🙃😋 the locals know what’s up. 🤫
November 3, 2025 at 11:42 PM
My sofa is here, and my home feels finally a bit homey, plus it’s too hot to move boxes here in Ōtepoti. So cheers! 🥳😎

When it’s just cheaper to park illegally, then actually pay for parking.

More roads means more traffic. Great to see the health minister and former transport minister figuring that out now. 🙃🤭
November 1, 2025 at 8:43 PM
An “alternative cycleway” that doesn’t inconvenience car drivers or actually connects to the city/George St.

We need connecting bike lanes and safe spaces for people to bike to work, school, uni and prioritising people over cars. Safe cycling infrastructure benefits everyone in our community.
