there seems to Be zero consensus in the HR field.
Personally, I hate them and feel like anything relevant in them is either in my resume or they can ask in the interview.
And it's truly bizarre to require them for something you're going to train on the job for anyway (or not need training for)

What's weird is, about half of hr people tell me they literally never read them, throw them in the trash, and would rather not have them...the other half read them religiously and place really outsized importance on them (granted I'm talking about non service jobs here). It's super weird to me that

'borrow' a friend or relative's id. Get literally anyone to take the scan for you. There are always options (just like there have always been options for underage folks to get booze or porn pre internet)

When I worked in the wine industry, an Indian woman who along with her techbro husband owned one of the wineries I distributed, came to work the market with us once. She kept referring to herself and her husband as farmers. I eventually pointed out that owning a farm that you exclusively pay others

Best thing I did was convince a doc to give me an Rx for anti nausea meds that I almost never need. But oh boy, when you do need them there's a world of difference so I keep a small stockpile. Still nothing compared to when my emt buddy could get me IM injectable stuff though. Like instant relief
