A thing I miss about watching Space Shuttle launches as a kid: the lack of vamping anchors breathlessly filling airtime during a countdown. You just watched the vehicle breathing on the pad and listened to controllers on the ground loop. Dull but preferable to the slick sales pitches of today, IMO.
