I've spent a wonderful month in Paris, but no experience here comes close to meeting Napoleon at Pere Lachaise cemetery. I asked if he was a tour guide, but he said no, he was just visiting relatives. I guess they couldn't all fit in his tiny tomb.

The latest episode of the stunningly designed The Mirror and the Light, was followed on IPlayer by Elizabeth R from the 1970s. The flimsy plywood sets and cheap polyester gowns and furs looked so silly and stagey by comparison...until Glenda Jackson came on screen, and nothing else mattered. Queen.

There's a lovely surprise waiting around the corner! What a treat this was. Perfect.
