Making new stuff does not mean you're not celebrating the series, look at CTR Nitro Fueled and Kirby Air Riders. Hell, look at Ring Racers, that's by super fans and they still make shit up! I appreciate this way more than TSR having like, 2 original track ideas.

Like I dunno, I think it's fine when a Sonic game includes original locations instead of only going "look it's that place you remember"
Like Mario Kart has tracks that exist as callbacks to previous games, but it's also neat when it does it's own thing. Hell, Sonic Drift 2 had original locations.

Yeah instead the museum track is filled with Sonic references, lending to worldbuilding by having artifacts from SA2, 06, Lost World, Frontiers and even Sonic and Tails donating the older models of the Tornado to it.

Forces certainly has ideas that I think could have been done better with it's reality warping and midlevel cinematics. This is why Shadow Generations, despite not having Infinite (for some reason) is a better Sonic Forces than Sonic Forces

Listen I love Infinite, probably my favourite Sonic character, but I'd be lying if I said he was handled better as an antagonist character than Sage

I think the only thing about Forces I'll give over Frontiers is that I think it's got stronger aesthetics.
Most notable in the HUD, because Forces levels go from looking really pretty to "WE GOTTA GET THIS OUT THE DOOR"
I think people who say Frontiers looks bad visually are insane though

The bread shoes are more accurate to the Super Star artwork but I think taking notes from his winged form's shoes works out better into translating him to 3D.
