I seem to recall it feeling like the studios were trying to hide his English not being great, even when it was pretty passable. He probably could have really benefitted from being in an ensemble comedy rather than just action.

Hey, Warner Brothers is pretty great and mostly brings in more money than it spends when you let the guys who know entertainment run it. It's the "massive debt" bit and the trying to make it part of a different sort of business that causes trouble.

I hear that. It's as if it not being a physical thing in the room with you makes it feel easy to let go of, but not needing to do any maintenance makes it easy to think it'll be easy to jump back into updating it regularly again.
