extremely bad editorial management by @springernature.com SN Social Sciences. A #manuscript sent in June and the rejection is sent nearly three months later. They are playing with our careers. Very frustrating. It shows that Springer is no longer a publisher of reputation

The new release of RStudio prints errors, warnings and messages in different colours. That's a great improvement! I teach introductory #Rstats a lot, and students *always* think messages are errors. Hopefully this will help.

Today is Romani Resistance Day, which commemorates the day in 1944 when 6,000 Romani prisoners in the Zigeunerlager at Auschwitz-Birkenau learned that they were all to be gassed, and rose up to fight back with “stones, iron pipes, wood panels, barbed wire [and] smuggled pikes.”

I’m unexpectedly happier with #copilot than I used to be with #perplexity: it just reads more into #journal articles. It’d be interesting to see what happens when these things only read into peer reviewed articles (maybe it’s already happening and I’ve missed it?)
